COLLABORATION in MILAN

On December 15、there was an inauguration for "Atabaque in Kokura Stripes", 6 lamps designed by Alessio Monti. The dynamic lamps incorporated SHIMA-SHIMA fabrics with various types of wood and metal. Noriko Tsuiki's hand-woven fabrics were on exhibit, as well as FRAME DECORATION, cushions and other products by SHIMA-SHIMA.

TEMPLE EISHOUJI

Noriko Tsuiki made the monument "Kokura Stripes Jade Muryo" (2016) in the 2nd charnel house "Kimyouden" newly built in temple Eishouji in Kitakyushu city.

MILAN DESIGN WEEK

The world's largest design show, Milan Design Week, is held every April in Milan, Italy.
Kokura Stripes Japan participated this year at "INTERNI 2016 OPEN BORDERS", a venue with particularly high-visibility. Noriko Tsuiki created handwoven works specifically for this event, SHIMA-SHIMA provided fabrics, and architect Naoyuki Shirakawa designed three installations entitled "PARABOLIC STRIPES"
Kokura Stripes exhibited Japanese tradition and aesthetics within the historic buildings of University of Milan, and our installations attracted many visitors and received high acclaim.
